Fermentation Groove Setup
Compost materials are placed in long fermentation grooves, typically made of concrete or steel structures.
Track Movement & Turning
The machine moves along pre-installed tracks on both sides of the groove. It uses rotating blades or drums to turn, break up, and aerate the compost material.
Mixing & Oxygen Supply
During the turning process, the equipment mixes the compost thoroughly, introducing oxygen into the material and ensuring an even temperature throughout the pile. This promotes aerobic microbial activity, which speeds up the decomposition of organic matter.
Temperature Control
As microbes break down the material, the temperature rises to 50°C–70°C, killing pathogens, weed seeds, and parasites.
Repetition for Full Fermentation
The turning is repeated at regular intervals (every 1-2 days) to maintain optimal fermentation conditions until the composting process is complete—typically in 20-30 days, depending on materials and environmental factors.
